Confined spaces can be deadly and many people are killed or seriously injured in confined spaces each year, including people trying to rescue others due to lack of training, competency or proper equipment. Hazardous substances, such as invisible gases or dangerous conditions like explosion risk, heat, flood water or unstable surfaces are commonplace.
Work in confined spaces must be properly planned by qualified and competent people and having the right equipment to enable access, egress and rescue is essential.

TDAVIT
A portable davit system providing an anchor point for confined space access work where a greater height of lift or radius is required. Also providing dual functionality for lifting equipment and machinery.
PORTADAVIT QUANTUM
A portable davit system providing the ultimate in lightweight portability for confined space access work, whilst also providing dual functionality for lifting equipment and machinery.
PORTABLE BASES
Our range of portable bases for those occasions where permanently installed sockets are not viable, also enabling the use of our TDAVIT and PORTADAVIT QUANTUM.
PORTAGANTRY RAPIDE
For use as an overhead anchor system for multiple users, as an alternative to a tripod, providing greater span and height of lift and a higher capacity with dual functionality for lifting equipment and machinery.

For very large openings our PORTAGANTRY range with winch ready options and a variety of beam lengths of up to 9m could also be used.
Confined Space Categories UK
Confined spaces can be classified as one of four different classifications. A low confined space comes under the NC1 Classification and this means there is easy entry and exit as well as natural ventilation. This comes under th low risk group.
There are 2 classifications that come under medium risk, and these are NC2 Classification and NC3 Classification respectively. An NC2 Classification tends to have vertically direct unobstructed access with a continuous attachment to a hoist or similar device. An NC3 Classification comes into play when it’s not possible to have a person permanently attached to a safety line and the person is therefore working without an attached line and is away from the point of entry.
The final group is high risk and consists of the NC4 Classification which involves complex operations that require specific controls and rescue arrangements.
