REID Lifting’s Managing Director, Simon Luke Looks Ahead to 2020
The UK lifting market has remained remarkably resilient in the face of so much political and economic uncertainty over recent years. A continuing emphasis on workplace health and safety has obviously helped to sustain demand, alongside opportunities in new and emerging markets such as renewable technologies.
Now that the election has finally delivered a resolution to the Brexit impasse, then I think we can expect to see a surge in activity next year, particularly in the construction market where so many investment decisions have been on hold; and that will be good news for all those businesses like REID Lifting who are agile and well funded enough to be able to respond.
REID has certainly been gearing up for significant market growth in 2020, not just in the UK but in Europe and the US as well.
We have made substantial investments in sales and marketing so that we can increase awareness of our products amongst end users and help generate new enquiries for our re-sellers, and we have been developing new products to help increase our penetration into new markets.
We previewed the new Porta Base product for our Porta Davit Quantum and T Davit products at LiftEx, and we will be releasing full details of that alongside a raft of other new products very soon.
We will also be looking to appoint additional overseas re-sellers next year to make our entire product range more widely available, and one of our key focuses will be on making sure we deliver products, service and support geared for individual markets. There’s a whole programme underway here to truly localise our support package and, coupled with our ongoing shift towards more sustainable packaging solutions, I am confident that will make REID an even more attractive supply partner.
It’s in the US market where we will be making our most significant announcement in 2020 though, and although we are not revealing too many details just yet, it will certainly signal the scale of our ambition.
There is a lot to look forward to.
