REID Lifting has purposely designed the PORTA GANTRY and PORTA GANTRY RAPIDE to have an aluminium frame on castors, the frame and castors combined have been expertly engineered to have a specific structural behaviour. This structure has been tested by REID and validated multiple times throughout the years, allowing us to be confident in the design of our Gantry systems.    

Fixing the legs to the ground will introduce new forces to the system that has not been considered during the design process. These unknown forces could cause a failure in the connection between the leg and the castor plate due to the increasing stress in the welding.  

Therefore, we do not recommend that our customers use our Gantry systems without the castors. 

Should you have an issue with uneven ground, then customers can purchase a set of Wind-up Jack Legs, which elevate the castors and enable fine adjustment of the gantry height at all corners. Our Wind-up Jack Legs can be found on our PORTAGANTRY Accesspage.
